SPECIAL FRIENDS 

I have had a lot of good friends during my whole life, fortunately. In this case I have chosen the two friends that I know since I was a kid. They have provided me love, understanding and support.

In this fist picture appears my bestfriend, her name is Melania and we are friends since we were 8 years old. We met at school when I started to go to the school canteen, we became friends very quickly as we had a lot in common. It all started then but now we’re still friends. Furthermore we live together since we started the University, we talked a lot about living together since we were at high school, that is what we wanted the most. She has seen my best but also my worst sutuations, we shared a lot of memorable moments, we laugh a lot and when we are together we are both happy even if we are going through a bad moment. Moreover what made our friendship stronger is that we are always there to give support to each other when we need it. I feel very lucky to have a friend like her and I could not imagine my life without her.

In this second picture appears another very import person to me although she is not physically with me anymore. Her name is Damaris and she is Colombian, we met also at school when we were kids. We were together for five or six years until their parents decided to move to Almería. Despite the distance we kept in touch and when we were on holiday we used to meet. However, three years ago she told me that her parents wanted to move to the USA.  In spite of being too far away from each other we talk a lot and, apart from Melania, is the only person who I totally trust. I am looking forward to seeing her, thus we are planning to spend a summer together.  As she lives in the USA and to go there is one of my dreams, I want lo go to visit her.

PLACES I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT 

Travel to different countries is my biggest dream, thus, it is complicated to choose only a few of them. I am going to write about two very different places: Firenze in Italy and New York in the USA

I have been in Firenze 3 years ago and from that moment I knew that I would like to come back  thousand times. I have always had an obsession with Italy since I was a child but when I was there I feel like I would like to stay forever. I especially like its history and how aesthic its buildings look. Furthermore I am learning italian at the University because I consider it as one of the most beautiful languages, and another reason is that I like to spend certain period there.

New York is my city dream, I have never been there but it is what I want the most. I feel attracted about every aspect of NY: the buildings, monuments, parks, shopping centres... and what is more important the language. Speak English fluently has been my dream since I was a child and I consider that there is no a better way to learn a language than to stay in a place in which that language is spoken.

WHAT WOULD I DO IF I HAD ENOUGH MONEY?

Having enough money to do and have whatever we want is everybody's dream, included mine, however, as it is said, money cannot bring us happinnes... but helps a lot.

Fisrt of all what I would do if i had enough money is help my parents to pay off all their debts and and give them a travel all around the world, which is their dream. 

Secondly I would like to help poor people but no by means of associations but by my own. I have heard that when you donate money not all of it is for help who need it, thus to make sure that my money is well spend I prefer to help by myself. 

Finally I would spent a lot of money in what I like, mainly, travel. I'll go to countries like Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brasil... I would like to visit all the countries of South America if it is possible.

All of these things are what I would do if I had enough money, I would help my family, the needy people and I also would spend money in myself.

SPECIAL FRIENDS

The pictures I have chosen are very special because I consider that these friends are like sisters to me. Having them as friends is undoubtedly one of the most important and beautiful things in my life.

In the first picture I appear next to one of my best friends, Ana. It was taken in Lorca one year ago, on a very special day that I will remember forever.
Ana is very special; I first met her in a party five years ago and since then we have been together, sharing beautiful and crazy moments. She is a very impulsive, creative and funny person that hates routine and tries to make every single moment count and that is why I love going out with her. Furthermore Ana is always there to help me, no matter what time of the day is, she phones me and we can be talking for hours.

 In the second picture, I appear next to another of my best friends, Isa. We first met in high school six years ago and even though that at the beginning we were not very good friends, now we are inseparables. She is a kind, funny and supportive person and I am very glad to have her in my life because she helps me a lot to avoid my pessimism.

 All in all, they are very different from each other but they are both wonderful people and I am very lucky to have them in my life. 


FAVORITE PLACES

In these two beautiful pictures we can see my favorite places to visit. Nevertheless, my biggest dream is to catch a plane and travel around the world to every single country in order to discover, learn and enjoy.

NEW YORK

First of all, my dream since I was a child has been visiting the United States of America. Since I discover my passion for English, I started searching information about the places where it was spoken and then the States appeared and my obsession started. 

 I would love to visit the fifty states because I consider that they are all beautiful and very different from one another. However, if I had to chose two of them now they would be New York and California, concretely the city of Los Angeles.

 New York and its views, museums, crowded streets, the Empire State Building, Central Park...every single corner of this huge city has to be amazing. I am really interested in history and I consider that this city is a very enriching destination which can also help us to improve our fluency as English students/lovers.

Secondly, visiting Los Angeles has been in my mind since my father taught me to love the world of cinema. When I was about five years old, I started discovering Hollywood, The Walk of Fame and the different movie studios in the city and I completely fell in love with it. And what about the beaches? Malibu, Santa Monica.. they have to be beautiful and perfect to spend the whole day enjoying of the view.

 I am totally convinced that one day my dream will come true and in that moment I will be for sure the happiest person on earth.

WHAT YOU WOULD DO IF YOU HAD ENOUGH MONEY?

Being able to buy whatever we want is one of the most popular human dreams. However and as we all know, money does not mean happiness but we have to admit that it can be very helpful.

 In the hypothetical situation of me being rich, in the first place I would help my family by solving any kind of economic debt that they could have. Secondly, my family, friends and I would travel around the world to discover new places, cultures, languages and people.
Investing part of my money in some different Cancer and Alzheimer associations is one idea that I would also develop in order to help people who is sadly suffering these horrible diseases day after day. Last but not least, I would love to fulfill my family´s dream which consists in buying a big house on the beach to spend time together and share wonderful moments that will never be forgotten.

How I improve my writing

Writing is a very complex task in English and how to improve in this area is a fundamental goal for us as future English philologists. I consider that writing is complicated because as we are Spanish native speakers, we tend to write in English as we would do in Spanish and this is not how it works. English is very different language from Spanish and we cannot do it in the same way.

I try to improve my writing in different ways. I read a lot in English, what makes me learn a lot of vocabulary and grammatical structures but what helps me the most is to write the songs’ lyrics that I like, in that way I learn how to write certain words that I have never written before.

Writing has been the most difficult aspect about learning English for me, I used to make a lot of  grammatical mistakes and my teacher gave me the advices that I have mention before to solve my weakness at English.

How I improve my writing

Writing is very important because it is something that last for a long time, whatever you write stays there, thus you should be very careful with it and try to write properly. It is a beautiful way to express yourself and I would like to do it well.

Before starting university, I thought that writing was quite easy, however when I entered in the English Philology degree I changed my mind. Writing is very difficult. Having a good writing skill requires a lot of time and practice in order to improve it.

So as to get better on writing, there are many ways to do it, nevertheless, being honest I do not do much to improve my writing because I actually I do not know well what to do, but I do know that I should do more. However I have to mention that I read some articles in English, and I used to read more in English back in high school. FurthermoreI have to mention that out of curiosity, a few weeks ago I started a book, called ‘Kafka on the shore’ thus I think this might help me in the process of improving my writing because I will learn vocabulary and grammar structures which I can use in my future redactions. Another thing that I think that helps is watching TV series in English with subtitles. This is the method I use the most because I find it more enjoyable. This is is basically everything I do to improve my writing and my English in general.

To sum up, I know that writing is important so I need to do more thing to improve it. I want to express myself writing in the best way possible so I have to practice a lot because eventually, I’m sure it will get better, it is a matter of time.

How I improve my writing

To start with and as an English Philology student, I would like to highlight that writing is in my opinion one of the most difficult skills in English. However, that does not mean that it is not beautiful and very important in order to improve our fluency.

Writing has been present in my life since I discovered that English was my vocation thirteen years ago. From my personal view point, I have to say that it is a skill that requires time and hard work providing we want to enhance it. Moreover, I reckon that writing is difficult because sometimes we do not know how to express what is in our minds using the most appropriate vocabulary and grammatical constructions.

Therefore, I do many different things to improve my writing. Firstly, I read books and articles in English because I really think that it enriches our vocabulary in a way that we cannot even imagine. Secondly, I try to do as many vocabulary and grammar exercises as possible from the Internet or from some books that I have at home. Last but not least, at the end of the day I take a piece of paper and a pen and I write in English everything that I have been doing during the day, including all my thoughts and feelings; I consider that it is really helpful.

All in all, writing is one of the best ways to learn English and if we practice at least for an hour a day we will enjoy of amazing results and will be very proud of our personal progress.
